Buckeye was formerly an agricultural community before evolving into a modern municipality that offers unique amenities for all of its residents.

Buckeye is known for its hospitable history. In 1935, the city started its Helzapoppin Days, which is a local tradition and still celebrated to this day. All of the proceeds from the celebration go to local churches that distribute the funds to the needy and for scholarships.
